The much anticipated opening of the Multiplex aquatics area has arrived! All pools in the aquatics area and the Free FM Flowrider, with the exception of the Adult Hot Tub, will be open to the public beginning today at 4:00 p.m.

All tanks have had a week to circulate and regenerate water supply since the repairs from the pipe rack failure, though the basement repairs are ongoing. Alberta Health Services and ALS Environmental have both approved the opening of the 54m tank, the 25m training pool, Aquaterasaurus Land, the Lazy River and the family hot tub.

Prices for the remainder of today will stay at the discounted rate of one classification down, but beginning Saturday Dec. 17, regular pricing will go into effect for all amenities at the facility.

“This is what we have been waiting for!” says Charlene Kushner, Manager of the Multiplex. “We have been preparing for this day for 3 years and it is now here and we are excited to be completely open to the public.”

The facility has been buzzing since the Ribbon Cutting despite the aquatics closure. “The field house has been packed, the running track busy, the fitness area is active and the children’s areas are hectic,” says Cheryl McKenzie, Marketing Manager at the facility. “Even though the aquatics wasn’t open it has been a very positive, busy week because there is so much to do here, but we are thrilled to have the entire building open. Now we will really see how anxious people are to be in here. It is an exciting day for us all. Staff and lifeguards have been waiting for this moment and now its here! “
