The facility is operated by the City of Grande Prairie and fully accessible to local residents and visitors.
It is the 4th component of the Community Knowledge Campus, located on the south side of Grande Prairie. It connects the Coca-Cola Centre, St. Joseph High School and the Gymniks Gymnastic Club.
All components share a connected heating and cooling infrastructure as well as underground access.

The site provides a mix of aquatics and field sports opportunities and accommodates every level of athlete. The broad range of equipment ensures multi-generational access to the entire facility.
The design provides barrier free access for all levels of disability with access to all concourse and sporting areas.
Construction
Wright Construction from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan are the primary contractors on the Multiplex Project. They began construction in November of 2008 after winning the tender.
A large number of Grande Prairie's trades people have been utilized in the facility's construction throughout the course of the entire project.
Studio Y from Calgary, Alberta provided the Dinosaur themeing in the children’s aquatics area. Kids imaginations will run wild as Dinosaurs watch over as they splash and play in the park.
